Websphere Application Support and Configuration Management Administrator (JA-MY-2009-100010)

Overview

• Installation, Configuration, Administration and Performance tuning of Websphere Servers.
• Experience in deploying applications in Domain and clustered environments.
• Apply patches and maintain the Websphere servers.
• Troubleshooting routine product issues independently (Incident Tracking and Resolution).
• Develop, facilitate and maintain best of breed product support tools including run books, monitoring, and knowledge bases to aid in the product support process.
• Act as the primary business liaison to the business segment, through facilitating communication between Development, QA, Product Management, Technical Operations and Segment business leaders on new product releases, technical outages, and routine maintenances (hosting moves).
• Effective communication and presentation to key business stakeholders are instrumental.
• Ability to work on own to complete tasks or projects with little or no supervision.

Responsibilities

• Must have at least 5 years experience in Websphere administration.
• UNIX proficiency (Linux and/or Solaris).
• Websphere Application Server (version 5.x and 6.x).
• Scripting ability (bash, ksh, perl, etc).
• J2EE application support.
• Apache web server support.
• Apache ANT.
• Databases - Oracle.
• Familiarity with Messaging, Load balancer, BIG-IP.

Additional Preferred Skill Sets

• IBM Tivoli Workload Scheduler.
• Actuate version 9.x.
• LDAP.
• DataJunction.
• Python/Jython.
• Ruby.
• PERL.
• JBoss.
• Basic network troubleshooting skills.
• Familiarity in FTP, SFTP, SSH, Telnet, trace, BIG IP, Firewall and general Network components at the level to troubleshoot any problem.
